Chanel Paradoxal!

So, I was planning on posting Color Club Yachty, Yachty, Yadda today. But this morning, after I'd already changed my polish, I realized that I hadn't had my memory card in my camera when I took the pictures...and I have no way to get pictures from my camera to my computer if they're not on my memory card. Boo. :( Instead, you get to see Chanel Paradoxal, which I received yesterday (really quickly! I was surprised!) from KarenD of Frazzle and Aniploish. I hope you don't mind!

When I realized what the package in my mailbox was, I immediately started leaping around in excitement - I'm pretty sure my mom thought I was at least slightly crazy, and possibly completely bonkers. Of course I had to apply Paradoxal right away (though now I wish I had waited until I noticed that I needed to retake my Yachty, Yachty, Yadda pictures), and I was not at all disappointed. Paradoxal went on in two perfect, non-streaky, buttery coats, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I say this way too often, but I'm in love - hence the major picspamming. I can't help myself! Unfortunately, the sun had no plans to come out and play, so I'll have to wait and see if it comes out tomorrow, because I'm sure I'll still be wearing this then.

The indoor and outdoor pictures (without flash) are color-accurate, but I went ahead and took a couple pictures with flash to show off the shimmer. I adore this color. It's a purple grey color with a shy purple shimmer that only really comes out in certain lights. Paradoxal is completely unique to my collection, though Models Own Purple Grey is a good creme dupe for the base color. I feel so lucky to have won this, and I still have trouble believing that I actually own a bottle of Chanel! I'm starstruck. Thanks for reading, and I hope you're all a wonderful day!

WASP

I set out yesterday to create a franken of Chanel Khaki Vert, which is part of Les Khakis de Chanel. After experimenting with several different combinations on an index card, I finally came up with the following: 1/2 Orly Prince Charming, 1/4 Orly Enchanted Forest, and 1/4 Revlon Minted. The fractions are very approximate, though, so if you decide to do this yourself, mix small bits at a time (and really, that's a good idea anyway). I used an old Bon Bons bottle because I didn't want to use too much of my base polishes, and because they have one ball in each bottle - not two, but better than none. However, their small size does make them difficult to take photos with...oh well. I don't have any of the Chanel khakis, so I can't compare them in person, but I think my franken is a bit greyer than Khaki Vert. Here are two coats with top coat:

I decided to name my franken WASP after the Women Airforce Service Pilots from World War II. I've always been rather interested in that period, and particularly interested in WASP after reading Flygirl by Sherri L. Smith earlier this year. Anyway, I thought it was kind of a good name, and I'm very happy with the polish itself. I may even make franken-dupes of the other two khakis...hm...

Here are links to the swatches I used in creating WASP: Frazzle and Aniploish, The Nailphile, My little world of polish by Lily Nail, All Lacquered Up, and Lacquerized. Thanks, ladies!

So, how close do you think I got?
