I'm sure most, if not all, of you have heard by now that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is represented by the color pink. However, not nearly as many people know about National Depression Awareness Month, which is also October, and is represented by green. Because I strongly support both of these causes, I will be wearing more green and pink nail polishes this month. Every time I wear pink or green, I will include a fact about breast cancer or depression (depending on the color I'm wearing) in the post. My hope is that this will help raise awareness for both causes. To start off, here are a couple facts:
Although the risk of breast cancer increases with age, women of all ages can and do get breast cancer.
Depressive disorders affect about 18.8 million American adults each year.
Are you doing anything to raise awareness this month? If so, what?
I'll be sire to blog about BC.I didn't know about the depression awareness! Thanks for letting me know! :)
ReplyDeleteRia- You're welcome! I'm glad to have helped raise awareness.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very neat idea. Thanks for sharing the awareness.
ReplyDeleteas a former sufferer of depression I did not know that october was National Depression Awareness Month and because of this I will wear more green nail polish than ever.

ReplyDeleteshortwidenails- You're very welcome! I'm so glad to have informed you...it always surprises me how few people know about NDAM.
Hi. I was searching on Internet to people from Missouri (Saint Louis) and I found you. (you live close, I guess)
ReplyDeletePlease, can you help me? I'm from Brazil, and I need to find a place in Saint Louis-Missouri where could I buy Nfu Oh nail polish. (Actually, my friend who is coming to Brazil could buy and bring me some!)
Do you know somewhere in Saint Louis where I can ask to my friend to look for it? He's a guy, so.. he doesn't know too much about 'girls stuff'.
Thank you sooooo much!
