Candy Corn

For Halloween, I decided to do a candy corn mani - simple and easy to do, but cute. I used an unnamed Sally Girl white, Orly Old School Orange, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lightening. Unlike other tutorials I've seen, I found it easier to do a white base, then the yellow, and then the orange.

 outdoors, sunlight
 indoors, artificial light
outdoors, shade

It's a little messy, but hey, not every piece of candy corn is perfect! I wore this to my choir's fall concert last night and got tons of compliments. Unfortunately, my right thumbnail chipped right after I took this picture (not the fault of the polish, though - it was my actual nail that chipped), so I've changed it out to Hard Candy Mischief, which I'll show tomorrow! I hope you're all having a great Halloween. Are you dressing up, and if so, as what?

  1. The way you did it is the way I first thought to do it. Makes more sense to me that way. You're right about candy corn not always being perfect, one piece I got had no yellow on it.

  2. Cuuuuute! I never tried doing any designs on my nails, did you just paint one strip after another as best you can, or did you use something to cover part of the nail while you are doing the next layer?

  3. Nail Designs xox- Thanks!

Serena- Yeah, I even got once piece that was all yellow! Weird stuff. :)

Olga- Thanks! I used French manicure guides, but on a couple nails I did some freehand after I took the stickers off because I didn't like the way they looked.
