Zoya Salma

Before I show you my NOTD, let me admit that I have a little problem. That is, I lose stuff all the time. It's terrible, and this time, I've lost my camera battery charger. I'll be buying another (very, very cheap) one soon, but in the meantime, my mom's camera has macro as well. Even though it's quite old--think turn-of-the-millenium--it should do the job for now. Anyway, here's Zoya Salma, one in my very first batch of Zoyas, which I got during the Nail Polish Exchange.

outside in shade

What a lovely color! Zoya calls it a "bronze-tinged red accented by fine metallic gold shimmer," and this is pretty accurate as far as I can tell. The polish tends to show up as a bit orangey in some lights, which I imagine is the bronziness (is it a word? it is now) and the shimmer showing. However, I don't find that this detracts from the polish. All three pictures are fairly accurate, though the last one is a bit more orange than real life.

As for application, Zoya promises that all their polishes are two-coaters, but Salma? Nope. It was a one-coater! I added a second coat because I am a creature of habit, but let me assure you that there was absolutely no difference between how my nails looked before and after the second coat. This would probably be different if my nails were less stubby, but I can't say for sure. My only complaint is the very subtle brushstrokes that I can see if I look closely enough; however, these would probably not be noticeable to other people unless they grab your hand and peer at it closely--I personally don't find this to be normal, but you never know. :)

  1. Gorgeous polish! Look at the color and the shine. I'd go out and buy Zoya right now with hopes that it would make my nails look like yours.

Best wishes from one blogger to another,
